Aquatic Sports

There are numerous types of aquatic sports out there that anyone can participate in and usually they fall into three categories.  In the water sports, which include everything from swimming to water polo.  The ever popular on the water sports, from rafting to wind surfing.  Lastly the uncommon under the water sports that include underwater photography and scuba diving.

As the title alludes, in the water aquatic sports can be carried out in the water in a pool or even on a beach.  The most popular in the water sport is swimming.  Many people learn to swim at a young age for leisure in a pool or even in the ocean.  However, swimming is also an Olympic sport and can be difficult and strenuous.  Water polo is also a common in the water sport that is played in a swimming pool.  Water polo is similar to volley ball however teams attempt to get the ball into their goal instead of hitting it over a net.  However, water volley ball is also a common in the water sport and is played just like regular volley ball, just in the water! Another in the water sport that is becoming popular among people of all ages is water aerobics.  Water aerobics makes it easier for individuals who have strained muscles to regain functioning in their muscles.  Other in the water sports include synchronized swimming, water gymnastics, snorkeling, diving and waboba.
 
The least popular type of aquatic sports are the underwater sports.  They are less popular, not because they are not fun, but because they are rarely accessible and many are expensive hobbies.  The most popular under water sport is scuba diving.  This can be done in the ocean to view many underwater beauties from fish to corals and even caves.  However, in order to scuba dive one needs to be licensed and have the proper equipment.  Because of this, many people does not scuba dive for leisure, for most scuba divers it is a hobby which they have dedicated much time and money towards.  They other common underwater sport is also a hobby that requires a lot of dedication, time and money.  Underwater photography is a great hobby for the many people who enjoy the beauties of the ocean.  However many things are required for the sport.  Photographers most often need to become scuba certified because the best photo’s are often taken when fully submerged.  Additionally special cameras and other equipment is needed to enable to photographer to successfully take pictures underwater.

Most of the other popular aquatic sports fall into the on the water category.  These sports often require pieces of equipment that allow the user to do many things on top of the water.  Boating is popular on lakes throughout the country and even in the ocean.  Along with boating comes water skiing, wake boarding and even tubing.  For these sports rider are carried behind the boat on a specialized piece of equipment which allows them to perform tricks above the water.  Surfing is also popular in areas that border the ocean.  With surfing people are able to stand upright on surfboards and ride the waves of the ocean as they approach the shore. There are many other types of on the water sports including; canoeing, fishing, jet skiing, parasailing, rafting, and windsurfing.
